Cane Bay Partners is pleased to announce our sponsorship and active participation in the 2023 Queen Louise Home for Children Golf Tournament held from November 3-5.
The tournament, which serves as an annual fundraiser in support of the Queen Louise Home, gives golf enthusiasts an opportunity to compete for a good cause.
Among the 21 teams who competed this year, the victory in the NET tournament went to none other than the Cane Bay team, including our very own co-founder Kirk Chewning as well as teammates Steve Worona, Christian Brady, and Connor Seres.
But the real victory here is in supporting an incredible cause that makes a difference in the lives of children in need.
Overall, the tournament helped raise about $40,000 for the Queen Louise Home as reported by Junia John-Straker, Chief Executive Officer of Lutheran Social Services, the agency that operates the home.
John-Straker said this year’s turnout was touching since the tournament had been postponed for several years due to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors.
“For me, it was really emotional,” she said, “because we hadn’t had anything for years, and the people who were there looked like they really wanted to support.”
John-Straker also expressed thanks to Cane Bay Partners for support during the tournament and other community-service initiatives.
“I really appreciate all the support that you’ve given to the agency. Cane Bay has found many ways to support the community as a whole – not just Queen Louise. I want to say thank you for being such a great partner in this work,” John-Straker said.
